On Saturday 24 January 2009 in the evening at the Market Village, General Director of Market Village Khun Yanyong Kanhawatane and Khun Wathanyoo Wisuthikosol have organized Chinese New Year 2009. The Chinese New Year celebration were officially open by Lord Mayor Jira Phongpthaibul. About five thousand of Chinese, Thai and foreigner tourists came to watch this celebration.

First the Singtoh team danced around the Jose House. Then there was display of Singtoh dance and Dragon parade around the front of Market Village terrace. The Singtoh team paid respect to Lord Mayor and VIPs. Lord Mayor gave tip to Singtoh  as per Chinese custom.

The Singtoh has performed for about one hour. Then it was turn for the Dragon show (Mankorn Tong). Just the Dragon’s head weighed 40 kg. There were 20 persons inside the Dragon and the Dragon’s tail was 30 meters long. It was fantastic night and memorable performance the Dragon and Singtoh.


Since opening of Market Village General Director Khun Yanyong has always supported events like Chinese New Year. He has always donated money to Education Fund for poor student, paid for school lunches and sponsored sports events for school children.
