Hua Hin District Officer's meeting regarding foreigners living in Hua Hin On 5th of June 2007 Mr. Prasit Boonlikit, Hua Hin District Officer, had a meeting with his staff regarding foreigners who live in Hua Hin. During the meeting, there was a discussion regarding Hua Hin Foreigner Service Link Center and how to control the foreigners who live in Hua Hin. The Hua Hin Municipality will monitor closely the number of foreigners living in Hua Hin. At present there are about 3000 persons, almost 90% of them have Thai wife. Mr. Prasit have said, that Government Officials will inspect each house in which foreigner lives in Hua Hin and will ask their wife to register, so the Hua Hin Municipality will know all the families. District Officer will invite the Prosecutor for the meeting with families, so he can explain to the foreigners the Thai law. Once the foreigners know the Thai law, they will be able to take properly responsibilities for their families. Mr. Prasit have said that there is a number of problems with foreigners. Some of them cheat others regarding ownership or leasing of land and houses, some break contract for supply of electricity, water and road access.
