On Thursday 07 August 2008 at 09.00 am at Hua Hin Beach, Hua Hin Lord Mayor, Khun Jira Pongpaibul with two Vice Mayors Khun Atikhun Bootying and Khun Suwit Lienroongrueng have attended Hua Hin Beach Cleaning Day organized by Public Health and Environment Department.
Before the cleaning of the beach has started, Vice Mayor Khun Atikhun Bootying has thanked Hua Hin Mayor for taking part. He said that Hua Hin is a very famous tourism town for over 100 years. Increasing number of tourists visit Hua Hin whole year round. Hua Hin is growing rapidly and this has sometimes negative effect on environment. In order to preserve Hua Hin status as a tourist destination it is essential to deal effectively with waste water and rubbish. On 12 August 2008 is HM the Queen Sirikit 76th birthday and this is ideal opportunity to clean the Hua Hin Beach.
Next Hua Hin Lord Mayor Khun Jira Pongpaibul has thanked everybody for coming to take part in the clean up of Hua Hin Beach. In the cleaning of Hua Hin Beach took part Infantry Division team, the Navy Corp surveying of King Palace, kindergarten and school children, students, scouts, school teacher, community workers, staff working in restaurants, hotels and hospitals. The cleaning of Hua Hin Beach took many hours. The whole Hua Hin Beach from Sofitel until Khao Takiab has been cleaned up.
