Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade 2008 press conference

On Wednesday 22 October 2008 at 03.00 pm, in front of Sofitel Centara Hotel took place Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade 2008 press conference. At the press conference were present Provincial Governor Prachuapkhirikhan Khun Panchai Boworn-Ratanparn, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Prachuapkhirikhan Khun Pinnart Chareonpol, Vice Hua Hin Mayor Suwit Lienroongrueng, President of Vintage Car Club of Thailand Khun Kwanchai Paphatphong and General Manager of Sofitel Centara Mr.Remko Kroesen.
               
Khun Panchai Boworn-Ratanapran has welcomed everybody to the press conference. He said Hua Hin is well known worldwide as tourist destination. Each year over 1 million Thai and foreign tourists visit Hua Hin. Hua Hin was visited by Thai Kings starting with King Rama IV and today HM the King (Rama IX) lives in Hua Hin. King Rama VII has ordered construction of Klai-Kangwon Palace and since that time many Royal prince and princess have visited Hua Hin.
               
The Governor has announced that this year starting from 6 December there will be many events taking place in Hua Hin like Jazz band concerts, stage shows and popular Jazz in Town event.

This year’s Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade will be organized as usual by Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas together with Hua Hin Hotelier’s Club and Vintage Car Club of Thailand. This event will be support Hua Hin Tourism Authority of Thailand and Hua Hin Municipality. Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade will be held on 12th and 13th December 2008.

There will be many activities during the 2 day event, most of which will take place at the Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas, Hua Hin.  50 vintage cars will join the parade this year setting off on Friday 12th December 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Sofitel Centara Grand, Bangkok. They will be heading off on a 225 kilometers journey to Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas, Hua Hin, with stops along the way at several local attractions. At around 5.30 p.m. the Vintage Car Parade will tour Hua Hin City. All participants will be dress up in fancy costumes in order to make this year parade even more colorful than usual.

The aim of this year event is to assist in creating destination awareness, product and brand loyalty and to display the magnificent vintage cars. All proceeds generated from the event will be donated to the Chaipattana Foundation.
