The shop owners came to Hua Hin Municipality to meet Vice Mayor Khun Witool Loh-Siriluck. They have explained to him the problem created by Night Market vendors. The shop owner have said that they have spoke to the Night Markets vendors on many occasions but their request to keep the footpath clear were ignored. The shop owners didn't have another option but to notify Hua Hin Municipality. Khun Witool said that he has ordered the Night Market vendors not to place any of their goods on the footpath next to the shops in order to create easy access to the shops immediately. He will monitor the situation for one month. If the Night Market vendors will not take notice of his request and will be forced to make changes to the way Night Market vendors operate. He has also postponed opening of the Night Market from 3pm to 4pm. This will be strictly enforced. He will also request Public Health Officer to inspect on regular basis the hygiene at the Night Markets vendors little restaurants. There is a concern that the dirty dishes are not properly cleaned. Today in afternoon, a worker from Hua Hin Municipal came to paint yellow lines on the road where Night Market is set up every evening. The Night Market vendors are not allowed to set up their stalls beyond the yellow line. This should resolve the problem and keep the footpath free of obstructions and ensure very easy access to the shops.

On 29 January 2008 Vice Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality Khun Witool Loh-Siriluck said that there is a dispute between Night Market vendors and shop owners on Soi 72. The shop owners of the shops on Soi 72 are unhappy because the Night Market vendors block with their goods for sale the footpath next to the shops. This prevents potential shoppers from using the footpath and going into shops to buy goods. The shop owners complain that they have lost a lot of business as a result of the footpath being blocked.
