His Majesty the King graciously advised the newly promoted top-level military and police officers to realize their greater responsibilities and do their best for the country, which is now facing many dangers. Presiding over the royal decoration ceremony for 390 new major generals at the Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Hua Hin on Thursday evening, His Majesty said in his speech that the officers must perform their duty the best they could.

He urged the officers from both the Defense Ministry and the Royal Thai Police to recognise the responsibilities that come with the honour they receive and to set good examples for their men, who would look up to them. The failure to handle the responsibility could result to damage to the country, he said.

"If the armed forces have good people, the country will survive dangers which frequently emerge. If the country is safe, the people will be happy knowing there are good people around them," he said.

With many dangers facing the country, the King told the new generals that he believed the country would be safe from harms because he believed in the officers to carry out their best performance to fulfill their role in defending the country. "People these days tend to wonder if we'll survive. I believe we can, because of your determination to be responsible for your duties. If not, we could fail," His Majesty said.
