Opened in 1987 on the east side of Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 103 (Udomsuk). The 200-acre park was build to commemorate the 60th birthday of King Rama IX. Here is a haven of peace and quietness, beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees where you can enjoy a pristine moment.

Homage to His Majesty
This area of the garden covers 21 rai (8.4 Acres) The principal feature is a Commemoration Hall (Ratchamongkol Hall) which is built in the architectural style of the Ratanakosin era. The nine-sided Hall houses a permanent exhibition recording major projects inspired by His Majesty, together with royal artifacts. The Hall is flanked on both sides by spectacular trees and flower beds, each with an individual fountain. The area in front of the Hall is called "Auttayan Maharaj", or Great King's Garden.
The Botanical Garden
Designed in accordance with ecological principles, this is the first comprehensive botanical garden to be established in Thailand. It covers an area of 150 rai (60 Acres) and is separated into many sections, each of which is surrounded by water for the purpose of irrigation. This serves as a pleasant venue in which to relax as well as providing research opportunities to study the many species of plants.
The Resorvoir
This artificial lake, known as Prapang Kaew Keb Nam, covers 40 rai (16 Acres). In accordance with His Majesty's wishes, the lake is designed to serve as a catchment area to ease the flood risk in Bangkok's eastern suburbs, by holding back water before releasing it into the Chao Phraya River. This area is also ideal as a venue for water sports and culture events.
Rommaniya Garden
This 50 rai (20 Acres) garden provides an environment of natural beauty representing various regions of Thailand. It has been landscaped to recreate the typical streams, waterfalls, forests and mountains of Thailand. For example, the natural scenery of a typical forest is created by the arranging of local plant species and stones from many parts of the country, to form a very pleasing composition natural features and diversity.
The Sanan Rasdara
Sanam Rasdara is a large open area of 70 rai (28 Acres). It is a predominantly grassy field where the general public can enjoy sporting events, various recreational activities ansd seasonal traditional festivals. This multi-purpose field also features domed area for outdoor concerts and musical performances.
The Water Garden
The water garden, covering an area of 40 rai (16 Acres), is home to various species of fish and other aquatic birds. Different types of aquatic plants thrive in the shallow canals and semi-forested environment which have been landscaped into a charmingly lush scenery. It has been created in acccordance with His Majesty's ideas to easily and economically help control the seasonal problem or flooding in Bangkok.
