Monsoon Restaurant is located on the Naresdamri Road. Monsoon Is set in a restored traditional Thai house and all the fixtures and fittings in Monsoon are in an authentic Vietnamese colonial style. The interior is modern and yet classical. As one walks into Monsoon, one is greeted by a brass topped bar and all around are colonial style tables and chairs. Passing the open kitchen at the rear of the downstairs area you can discover a small, but intimate garden. Upstairs is the main dinning room, which, is serviced by the open kitchen. Pick of the appetizers has to be the Monsoon Platter, featuring Spring Rolls, Pork and Shrimp Salad rolls, Calamari, and Mustard Salad rolls . Other appetizers include Prawn Cake with Sweet and Sour Sauce, and Grilled Beef in Lot Leaves. Pumpkin Soup is a favourite here, as is the Vietnamese Noodle Soup with Chicken or beef, and a speciality of the house Monsoon Fried Noodles. Salads are a feature on the menu, such as Fresh Bamboo Shoot Salad , Young Coconut Flower Salad, Seafood Salad Thai style, and a Nicoise Salad. Main courses are just as varied. Charcoal Grilled Beef Rolls, Chicken Tikka with Curried Rice, superb duck Breast with Shallots and Ginger sauce. My personal favourite is the Sauteed Chicken with Chilli and Lemon Grass. The background music is not intrusive and the waiting staff is dressed in traditional Thai costumes. Address: There are no reviews posted yet.
