Shortly after Songkran takes place annual procession of God Somboon, Hua Hin Goddess and Tabtim Goddess as well as other deities on Naresdamri Road, near Hilton Hotel. The procession takes place at 3pm. Members of club committees prepare lotus flowers, candles and incense sticks for people to buy. On the same occasion, the Sawang Phaisan Foundation from Pranburi joins the procession and brings musicians playing various musical instruments. All respectful Gods and Goddesses are paraded around Hua Hin City on a 3 kilometers long route. The Community Committee gives sets of lotus, candles and incense sticks to people on the street, in houses and restaurants. In return people donate money to charities and pay respect to their Gods. Usually people donate 100 – 200 baht for a lotus flowers. Mr. All donations will go towards assisting the poor with education and some of money will be given to Abbot of the Phrabhat Namphu Temple Luang Po Alongkot to help with care of the AIDS patients leaving at the temple compound. The following morning on the Naresdamri Beach Club Committee helds Sand Stupa building competition in front of Tabtim Goddess Shrine. This competition is a local tradition passed from generation to generation over hundreds years. |
