Governor Khun Panchai Boworn-Ratanpran said that Hua Hin is well known worldwide tourist destination. There are many tourist attractions in the area like for example Pala U waterfall, caves, many golf courses, islands and historical palaces. HM the King lives at Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin. This year 2008 Prachuapkhirikhan residents will celebrate HM the King’s birthday on 5th December. This year the Province will organize grand celebration for King Bhummipol’s 81st birthday. It will last 30 days until Sunday 4 January. Three districts will take part in these celebrations: Hua Hin, Pranburi and Prachuap City. There will be many shows and jazz performance in Hua Hin everyday during this grand celebration. In the beginning of the celebrations residents will pay respect to HM the King. Shortly afterwards exhibition about HM the King’s life will be open and residents will be able sign special book with the wishes for HM the King. This book will be later presented to His Majesty. There will be also art exhibition organized by Khun Thawee Kesangarm. Residents will have opportunity to paint pictures. Most of the shows and jazz performances will take place at Phon Kingpet Public Park and Sofitel Centara Hotel.

On Wednesday 29 October 2008 in the afternoon in front of Sofitel Centara Hotel Provincial Governor Panchai Bowor-Ratanapran held press conference regarding birthday celebrations for HM the King. At the press conference was present Vice Governor Khun Pisit Soontreerat, Hua Hin Mayor Jira Pongpaibul, Director of TAT Khun Pinnat Chareonpol, V1ice Managing Director of Care You Ltd Khun Anuchit Manichai and Khun Prasert Salin-Ampai of Petroleum Group. The press conference was organized by Khun Top Pipat.
