Next Khun Sethakiat Krajangwong officer from the Livestock Department said to the people that procedures in place are very strict and official are making sure that those involved with the transportation of livestock follow these procedures. Lord Mayor Jira Pongpaibul has assured Hua Hin residents that chickens are free of bird influenza and can be eaten safely during the forthcoming Chinese New Year be held on 23rd January 2009. He said ‘don’t worry about the chicken’. Then the officials gave fried chicken to Vice Governor and Hua Hin Mayor to eating. They have prepared also boiled chicken to feed three elephants. Vice Governor gave the elephants chicken to eat. The journalist and Hua Hin residents were fascinated when they saw the elephants eating chicken. Normally elephants eat just grass, bamboo and all type of fruits. Perhaps chicken is tastier.
