As a result of the accident, there were nine persons dead. Eight died at the scene and one person has died at the hospital, all of the dead were Burmese workers (5 males, 2 females and 2 boys). The initial investigation found that at 06:00 on Cha Am – Pranburi Bypass road there was the pick-up car carrying Burmese workers and trying from escape highway police officers. That made the car overshoot and hit a tree beside the road. After the accident Mr. Jumphol, a car driver, denied driving the car, however he has been arrested and will face prosecution.
