The campaign against AIDS was supported by Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Deputy Mayor Mr. Suwit Rianrungruang and other municipal councilors. Dr. Srikanok Wisutthiwiset took to the stage and thanked Hua Hin Mayor for presiding over the campaign against AIDS. She said Hua Hin is a tourist destination visited by over 1 mln people a year. There is a growing entertainment industry in Hua Hin with hidden prostitution which is one of the sources of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. The objective of the campaign against aid is to raise awareness among Hua Hin residents about dangers of unprotected sex. This project is supported by Hua Hin Municipal Health Fund, Hua Hin General Hospital, Family Planning Association of Thailand and Hua Hin Musical School. Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon has thanked Dr. Srikanok for the campaign and said that Hua Hin District has been one of the most popular tourist places in Thailand. There is growing entertainment industry with concealing prostitution, the main source of sexual transmitted diseases. After the Mayor’s speech all taking part in the campaign march have walked around Hua Hin in hope of their campaign among Hua Hin residents.

On Thursday 12 February 2009 in the morning at Phonkingphet Park young Hua Hin residents have gathered to campaign against AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. The gathering was organized by Deputy Chief of Social Medical Service Section at Hua Hin Hospital Dr. Srikanok Wisutthiwiset. In the campaign took part students from Rajamangala University of Technology, young soldiers from 15th Infantry, medical staff from Sanpaolo Hospital and hundreds of young village volunteers.
