Lord Mayor Jira Pongpaibul and his management staff has invited Governor Panchai Borwornratanapran to preside over the opening of the festival. During opening ceremony Mayor Jira has said that the Hua Hin Food Festival used be organized every year until 2004. Then it was cancelled because potential organizers were unable to go through with the festival. Fortunately there was fruitful meeting organized by Hua Hin Municipality in October and decision has been made to restart this festival. Governor Panchai Borwornratanapran in his speech spoke about Hua Hin’s history. He said that Hua Hin has been tourist destination for about hundred years and now more than one million Thai and foreign tourist come to visit Hua Hin each year. Hua Hin must offer tourists many attractions and one of them is Hua Hin Food Festival. It is important that food is clean and delicious foods, the Public Health department carry out regular inspections of food shop and restaurant. Hua Hin has plenty sea food on offer like crabs, lobster, butter fish or red snapper. Hua Hin District offers not only fantastic food but also many tourist attractions like national parks with Pala U waterfall, caves, island and several professional golf courses. In the end he has thanked all organizers for their hard work to ensure that Hua Hin Food Festival will be a great success.

On Tuesday 05 November 2008 at 07.00 p.m. at around the Queen’s Park Hua Hin Municipality together with Hoteliers Association and Hua Hin / Cha-Am and Provincial TAT have opened Hua Hin Food Festival. This year event will take place during 5-9 November 2008.
