Mayor Jira spoke to me recently about some problems which Municipality is trying to sort out. He said that it is important to look after tourists visiting Hua Hin. There are not enough parking areas for cars at the moment. Private taxi drivers park their cabs on both sides of the Petchakasem Road in the center and there is hardly any parking space left for visiting tourists. Hua Hin Municipality organized meeting with Traffic Police officer, high way department official and other officials dealing with traffic but this didn’t improve the situation. Hua Hin taxi drivers park their cars as before. Hua Hin Municipality continued to consult the Traffic Police and with their advice parking spaces have been created in Naeb-Kehard Rd, Pull Suk Rd and Petchakasem Rd . This has only partially solved the problem. Hua Hin Hotline Newspaper has invited the Provincial Governor Khun Panchai Borwonratanapran to come to Hua Hin town find out about problem facing tourists. Another problem is when Hua Hin Night Market and Chat-Chai Market are open. During that time motorbikes continue ride through the markets. There has been number of accidents when motorbikes hit tourists visiting the market or hit markets stalls and good fall off them. This problem needs to be yet addressed. Hua Hin Municipality has number of consultants led by Umnouy Thaiyanon. Khun Phairoch Markmoo is the leader of the Khun Jira’s party members (fifteen seats) at the Municipality Assembly.
