This year celebrations took place at the camp’s airfield as more space was required. Over four thousand guests were sited at 570 tables. At about 07.30 p.m Chief Commander of Infantry Centre Major General Niwat Meenayotin has welcomed warmly all the guests and wished them Happy New Year 2009. Then it was time for the lucky numbers draw. Everybody was given number with their invitation card. Major General has prepared over 200 prizes such as electric fans, refrigerators, bicycles, rice pots, ovens, microwaves, recorders, notebooks and many more. Major General Niwat has presented prizes to lucky winners.

On Tuesday 23 December 2008 in the evening at the Infantry Centre, Thanarat Camp Major General Niwat Meenayotin Chief Commander of Infantry Centre has arranged New Year celebrations for his officers with families and invited guests. Among guests was Governor of Prachuapkhirikhan, Chief District Officer, Chief Provincial Judge and other VIPs.
