On 21 May 2009 Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has opened its new office at Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khirikhan Province. President of TAT board Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat has presided over the opening ceremony. At the opening ceremony were also present Prachuap Khirikhan Governor Mr. Panchai Bawonrattanapran, Vice Governor of TAT in Tourism Marketing Mr. Wansadet Thawonsuk, Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Jira Phongphaiboon, Hua Hin Chief District Officer Mr. Prasit Boonlikit, representative of Hua Hin – Cha Am Tourism Association, members of Hua Hin Rotary, press and other municipal administration staff.
TAT office at Prachuap Khirikhan is one of the 13 newly open offices opened recently. Currently there are 35 TAT offices nationwide responsible for promoting tourism in 76 provinces of Thailand. The new office in Hua Hin is perfect for promoting tourism. It will help greatly meet tourist needs. Although Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is the main tool for promoting tourism in Thailand, currently there is a need for cooperation of Thai sectors to overcome impact of the worldwide recession on tourism industry.
