On Tuesday 03 March 2009 at Wing 5, Vice Commander, Group Captain Tarkpet Pinpan and Chief Commander, Group Captain Ard-Narong Ton-suwanaat press conference regarding Thai Sky Festival 2009 organized by World Team and the Royal Thai Air Force. The Thai Sky Festival 2009 will take place at Wing 5 Fly Division 4 during 3 – 14 March 2009 and is organized by The Royal Thai Air Force along with the World Airports Federation and the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It is expected that 250 skydivers from 25 countries will take part in the Thai Sky Festival 2009. The Thai Sky Festival has been held by the Royal Thai Air Force and the World Airports Federation since 1996 and has attracted skydivers from Thailand and abroad. World Team is a highly skilled international team of skydivers, camera flyers, pilots, judges, and support personnel who have established multiple world records. In 2006 World Team and the Royal Thai Air Force set new world records with 400 skydivers linked together thousands of feet above Udon Thani to honor His Majesty the King. We had opportunity to meet, Air Marshal Somchai Plapong Vice President of World Team Organizing Committee. He said that he would take care for all members of the World Team during Thai Sky Festival 2009. He is going ensure that there are doctors on standby at the airfield each day. We spoke also to Chief Air Marshal General Apisit Julamoke, Vice Chief of Military Staff. He has told us that he does jumps since he was flight captain. To date he has jumped over 3,000 times. Group Captain, Pirayuth Kaewsai, Secretary of World Team Organizing Committee of Thai Sky Festival 2009, said that he has skydived more than 3,000 times and he looks after skydivers from other countries. Group Captain Tarkpet Pinpan said that anyone interested can attend Thai Sky Festival 2009 at Wing 5 free of charge.
