The first train left Bangkok on Saturday 31 January 2009 and has arrived in Hua Hin Railway Station at time 2.30pm. Vice Governor Khun Pisit Soontrerat, Vice Mayor Khun Suvit Reinroongrueng and Director of the Provincial TAT Office Khun Pinnart Cheonpol has welcomed tourists traveling by train to Hua Hin. Among travelers from Bangkok was Vice Director of TAT Khun Wansadet Thawornsuk. After arriving to Hua Hin most of the visitors went to play golf at Royal Hua Hin Golf Club which is next to Hua Hin Railway station. In the evening, after golfers have finished playing, everybody went by train to Sam Roi Yot National Park to see the lotus swamp on 20,000 rais and to taste lotus seeds. Next morning, on Sunday 01 February 2009, golfers went to play golf Baanyan Golf Course.

On Saturday 31 January 2009 TAT of Thailand has organized gathering of representatives from Royal Thai Railway Department and private sector to kick start their ‘Travel by train is fun’ campaign. TAT offers special package for a two day train trip in hope that it will encourage tourism to the Prachuapkhirikhan Province.
