On Sunday 21 December 2008 in the morning around Huay Mongkol Temple Governor Pranchai Borwornratanpran has opened Toong-Tarn-Tawan sunflower field for tourists. At the ceremony was also present Chief District Officer Khun Prasit Boonlikit, Lord Mayor Khun Jira Pongpaibul, police officer, military, tour companies, representatives of Hua Hin Hotelier Group and Hua Hin residents. Khun Prasit Boonlikit spoke about history of this sunflower field. Abbot Prakru Papassorn Worapinit has started to grow sunflower on 50 rai of land and it will be expanded soon to another 50 rai field. Sunflowers grow very fast and sunflower field is very beautiful. Usually every weekend many tourists come to this temple to respect Loung-Poo-Tuod and buy Ong-Ja-Tu-Karm - well known Buddha. The 50 rai sunflower field belongs to the temple. Abbot of the temple thinks that area next to the sunflower field is ideal place for tourist to relax. He is thinking about building accommodation for the tourists.
