In the evening Group Captain Vice Chief Commander Tarkpet Pinpan and Wing 5 offered his blessing to HM the King at the Local Government Department. Then Senior Group Captain Chief Commander of Wing 5 Arj-Narong Ton-Suwanratana together with all Air Force officers sang King's song. Every year on 5th December government official and all Thai people celebrate King's birthday. Early in the morning people make a merit and donate food to temples. Then as per Thai custom they buy fish, crabs, birds, turtles and then release them back to nature. This mean bad luck is out and they expect fresh good luck. Some villagers prefer buy garments for Buddhist Monks. Many people attend prayers in the temple on this day. Some of them to celebrate King's birthday decide to enter monkshood for a short time.

On Friday 05 December 2008 military staff of Wing 5 has arranged celebration ceremony of HM the King’s birthday. Early in the morning Group Captain Vice Chief Commander Supchai Surakul together with his colleagues took part in merit making ceremony for Buddhist monks at Sarn Luk Maung Temple.
